Life Learning Magazine was launched in March of 2002 to provide inspiration and information for people around the world who believe in personalized, non-coercive, active, interest-led learning from life. (That includes but is not limited to homeschooling and what is variously called ”life learning,” “unschooling,” “radical unschooling” and “autonomous learning.”) In June of 2008, Life Learning’s editorial and advertising began to be published in its sister magazine Natural Life. It has continued online, with some material available on the public section of the website and new/back issues available in PDF format via subscription.
Co-founder and editor Wendy Priesnitz writes this blog. She is also the author of nine books – including School Free: The Homeschooling Handbook and Challenging Assumptions in Education - and the editor of the book Life Learning: Lessons from the Educational Frontier. A change maker who has been at the forefront of a number of social trends over the past 35 years, she started Canada’s homeschooling movement in the 1970s when she was helping her two daughters learn without school.
Wendy has also blogged at www.WendyPriesnitz.com/blog since 2004.
